interested とは

1. 1 〈人が〉（…に）興味をもった，好奇心をかき立てられた≪in≫，（…することに）関心のある≪in doing，to do≫（⇔uninterested）

   • 探偵小説にとても興味がある

[語法]

(1) 「情報を獲得（learn，know，find out など）したい」という願望を表すには to do, in doing の両方が用いられる．具体的な行為（study，work など）に関する願望を表すには in doing を用いる

• I'm interested in studying in the U.S.
• 米国で勉強してみたい．

(2) 修飾語には be very interested in のように通例 very，very much を用いる．much を用いるのは堅い表現

2. 2 〈人々が〉（…に）（利害）関係のある，関与している≪in≫
   • the interested parties
   • 《法律》（裁判などの）当事者たち
3. 2a 〈動機などが〉自分の利害に基づく，私利私欲による，私心のある（⇔disinterested）
